Liam Tierney played football for both club and county at every grade and he also played for his country as an All-Star nominee and as part of the Ireland team for the Australian Rules series in the mid-eighties. He was a part of Senior Club and County football from the age of 17 and he played a role in the club's first senior championship win in 1974 and again, 11 years later in 1985. A versatile player he played in almost every position on the team
