Welcome to Edgeworthstown

Thank you for visiting the Edgeworthstown website. Here you will find useful information on Edgeworthstown and it's rich heritage, drawn from it's association with the famous Edgeworth family, Oliver Goldsmith, Oscar Wilde and many more historical figures. You can view an interactive map of the town with it's places of interest. You can learn more about our literary past and what we can offer the visitor to our town. You can find out how to get here and you can find links to other attractions, a short journey away, that are worth a visit.

With our guided walks we offer the visitor an opportunity to follow in the footsteps of Maria Edgeworth and her family, Oliver Goldsmith, Sir Walter Scott, William Wordsworth and Oscar Wilde. You can visit the Walled Garden at Edgeworthstown House, the Rectory (birthplace of the Abbé Edgeworth) and St. John's Church and graveyard where Isola Wilde is buried.

We hope you enjoy your visit to our site. The Literary Trail will be up and running soon so please contact us for more information.
